CAPTURE TO EXCEL

  1. Generate a Bill of Materials (BOM) for your assembly in .xls format. Ensure that the Part Number and Default Representation Source columns are included.
  2. In the Excel BOM file, work only with the part rows listed below the Total Part section. You can delete the rows above. (For details, refer to the instructional video.)
  3. Run the Capture to Excel macro and select the location of the Excel file containing the BOM.
  4. The macro will prompt you to enter the column number for the Default Representation Source. Provide the corresponding column number.
  5. Next, the macro will ask for the column number of the Part Number. Enter the relevant column number.
  6. The macro will begin processing. Depending on the number of parts, this may take some time.
  7. Once the macro completes, the Part Number column in the Excel file will contain the captured isometric view of the corresponding part as a visual in the description field.

  • Note: Make sure the Excel file is opened correctly before selecting its location in the macro. License warning pop-ups or similar issues may interrupt the macro’s operation.
